FOTOGRAFISCHE GESCHICHTE

Dieser undatierte Kalender ist aus einer sehr einfachen Idee entstanden: Wenn wir Insekten wirklich sehen, verändert sich unsere Beziehung zur Natur. Über viele Jahre habe ich in Österreich — besonders in Tirol — nach den faszinierendsten, schönsten und charakterstärksten Arthropoden gesucht und sie mit extremer Makrofotografie porträtiert.

Die 12 Motive sind bewusst kuratiert: nicht nur „die buntesten“, sondern jene, die fotografisch und erzählerisch tragen — durch Form, Detail, Verhalten oder Bedeutung im Ökosystem. Viele dieser Bilder waren bereits Teil meiner Ausstellungs‑ und Bildungskooperationen (u.a. Alpenzoo Innsbruck, Universität Innsbruck, Innsbruck Nature Film Festival, Botanischer Garten Innsbruck). In diesem Kalender bekommen sie einen festen Platz im Alltag: als ruhige, wiederkehrende Erinnerung daran, wie viel Schönheit und Komplexität direkt vor unserer Haustür lebt.

ENTDECKUNG

Jedes Blatt ist eine kleine Expedition: Flügel wie Glas, Panzer wie Architektur, Augen wie Facetten. Die extreme Nähe macht Details sichtbar, die man draußen kaum wahrnimmt — und verwandelt winzige Tiere in monumentale Naturkunst.

Dieser Kalender ist undatiert, weil die Motive zeitlos sind. Du kannst ihn jedes Jahr wieder verwenden, einzelne Seiten als Bilder aufhängen oder ihn wie ein kleines Portfolio durchblättern. Gleichzeitig trägt jede Seite Wissen in sich: Zu jedem Motiv gibt es (auf Englisch) den Namen und eine kurze, faszinierende Information — als Einladung, nicht nur zu staunen, sondern auch zu verstehen.

PHOTOGRAPHIC STORY

This undated calendar comes from a simple idea: when we truly see insects, our relationship with nature changes. Over many years, I’ve searched across Austria — especially Tyrol — for the most fascinating, beautiful, and character‑rich arthropods, and photographed them using extreme macro techniques.

The 12 images are carefully curated: not just the most colorful, but the ones that hold artistic and narrative weight through form, detail, behavior, or ecological significance. Many of these photographs have been featured in my collaborations and public projects (including Alpenzoo Innsbruck, the University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck Nature Film Festival, and Innsbruck Botanical Garden). This calendar gives them a place in everyday life — a quiet, recurring reminder of how much beauty and complexity lives right outside our doors.

Each page is a small expedition: wings like glass, armor like architecture, eyes like mosaics. Extreme macro reveals details we rarely notice outdoors — transforming tiny creatures into monumental natural art.
